About Kyla

Kyla’s love of fine food, fine wine and most specifically, champagne began when she put her corporate career on hold to open a wine bar. But her wine obsession centres on one enigmatic sparkling with a long and fascinating history – champagne. After selling her bar Kyla decided to move to France to explore this wine and history further.

After writing a letter to a gentleman who had written one of her favorite books on champagne, Kyla was extended an invitation to the region of Champagne to learn about this nectar of the gods first hand. Spending several months in the region she learnt about the unique grape varieties, traditional methode champagne production, the illustrious history of the wine and of course had the opportunity to taste some of the most beautiful and rare champagnes in the world.

Whilst in France, Kyla was introduced to a side of champagne that is rarely witnessed by the rest of the world, a glimpse into the life of Champagne families – generations of wine makers who have passed skill, passion and expertise from one generation to another. Eating and drinking with these families, sharing the food, the wine, the stories and the experience of their unique existence producing one of the world’s most desired products has further fuelled Kyla’s love of this wine and the industry.

Kyla travels to Champagne many times each year. Many of these journeys have lauded some fascinating stories and experiences. Including some exquisite opportunities whilst working with the Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy Group which owns some of the most powerful champagne brands in the world including Moët and Chandon, Veuve Clicquot, Ruinart, Dom Perignon and the grand daddy of champagne Krug.

All of this experience and many of these stories will be brought to you in your Champagne Master Class.
